This Italian digital artist has done a collection of very unique pieces with dolls.
I think I could describe my photography as a mixed media of photography, post production and emotions.
I began using Photoshop about ten years ago, but it wasn't until two years ago that I really got into into photography and began using Photoshop to 'create'. It is a very powerful tool, no doubt about it. The more I learned to use it the more it began a very important part of my creation, just as much as the shoot itself. It's the part of the work when my first idea really comes to life. But above all that, it's fun!
Music has been my first love, I could not live without it. That's were I mostly look for inspiration. Of course there are a number of photographers whose work I consider a constant form of inspiration, too many to name and not all famous. But my inspiration comes from many different things and media: cinema, books, magazines, travels…
I don't have a routine, but I usually start from an idea. I get most of my ideas driving and listening to my ipod.
I never know for sure what the final image will look like, so when I put myself to work I'm never really sure of what I will end up with.
Layers and masks, I could never do without them! They give you the control of every portion of your picture without affecting the rest. I also use lots of actions: free, bought and self-made. My top tip when using photoshop is to always use a different layer for each tool, never, NEVER, work on the original picture.
Try and learn, learn and try. Don't be afraid to experiment but above all don't think that everytime you open Photoshop you'll get a masterpiece! if you don't like what you get, just stop and do something else. Also remember that you can find tons of tips on the internet.
Flickr.com that's the place that got me started. You can find loads of awfully great photographers there, and many communities devoted to Photoshop.
Jpg.com is my second choice. There idea of a magazine made up with the pictures of its members is great and also very challenging.
My third one is deviantart.com the place is full of interesting resources for photographers.
My last commission was a work for a group whose album is coming out next year. I'm also working on a project of fake ttv pictures of wild animals called fauXsafari.
I have a stream on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/kimmika/) where you can find most of my work. The rights of my pictures are managed by Trigger Images (triggerimage.co.uk) that also sells fine art prints of some of them. I'm also planning to open an etsy shop soon, so stay tuned
